Club Committees

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee will be responsible for overseeing and assisting in the club’s membership process. This will include creating and maintaining a prospective member list, assigning greeters at every meeting to welcome guests, following up with individuals interested in joining, collecting applications and passing application information to the club secretary, creating name-tags for members, and maintaining a stock of t-shirts for members to purchase. They will also schedule the introduction of new members and ensure a smooth integration into the club.

Service Committee

The Service Committee will be responsible for promoting Rotary First Harvest events, overseeing the ongoing mentoring program at the King County Juvenile Detention Center contacting local Rotary clubs to arrange joint service projects, and coordinating at least 1 additional service event per month. These responsibilities can be assigned through the community service committee. They will also be responsible for arranging at least one international service project per year. Should the club grow considerably, this committee may be split into two, separating local and international service projects. All funds for service projects must be raised separately from club dues, and the VP of Service should appoint a fundraising chair to work closely with.

Programs Committee

The Programs Committee will be responsible for contacting and scheduling speakers for meetings, arranging for Seattle City members to speak at Seattle 4 meetings, coordinating at least one social event per month, and setting up professional development events and programs. Should membership and the needs of the club grow to the point that it is deemed necessary; this committee will be split into two, for events and meeting programs.

Public Relations Committee

The PR Commitee will be responsible for promoting membership campaigns, producing a quarterly newsletter to be distributed to local Rotary clubs and the community, creating and printing any necessary flyers as assigned by the president and fundraising chair, maintaining the external website by updating the calendar and main pages, and maintaining all social media platforms.

Fundraising Committee

The Fundraising Committee will work closely with the treasurer and service committees to plan appropriate fundraisers to finance the club’s service activities.
