President - Devon Hay

Picture
Devon is a recent graduate of the University of Washington with a degree in Microbiology. While at UW she became heavily involved in the Seattle Rotary scene, serving as the fundraising chair and president of the UW club and on the District Leadership Team 2011-current as the Professional Development Chair, running the Rotaract-Rotary mentorship program. She continued her service fulltime after college as an AmeriCorps member and believes strongly in community and civic engagement. She currently works for the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services in a specialized community resource oriented program for parents struggling to support their families. Devon is also the chair of the upcoming Big West Rotaract Conference to be held in Seattle, October 2015. We are thrilled to have her Rotaract leadership experience and vision.

Vice President - Mitch Sturtevant

Picture
Mitch is an alumnus of the UW with a B.S. in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology and minors in Chemistry and Global Health. As an Eagle Scout he has been involved in service projects for much of his life, and thrives on the feel-good nature of community and international service. Rotaract has been a fantastic way to not only give back to the communities that we so often take for granted, but also to form invaluable and long-lasting connections with like-minded philanthropic groups and individuals. In addition to his role at Seattle City, Mitch is also the Assistant to the District Rotaract Representative, and the Marketing and PR Chair for the 2015 Big West Conference.

Secretary - Mariah Kimpton

Picture
Mariah has grown up in Rotary, from volunteering with her father’s Rotary club as a child to studying abroad as a Rotary Youth Exchange Student in high school. A former member of the Willamette Valley Rotaract Club of Eugene, Oregon, she has attended numerous Rotary and Rotaract conferences, including the inaugural Big West Rotaract PETS Conference and the Big West Rotaract Conference in 2014. In addition to her position at Seattle City Rotaract, Mariah is the District 5030 Rotaract Secretary and is the registration chair for the 2015 Big West Rotaract Conference. She has demonstrated excellent planning and organizational skills and reliability. Mariah works as the Office Coordinator for the Rotary Club of Seattle.

Service Chair - Anna Galloway

Picture
Anna graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture and minors in Anthropology and Historic Preservation from the University of Oregon in 2014. She moved to Seattle shortly after graduation to pursue her love of architecture, historic preservation, and service. She has always had a heart for service and a passion for travel; for over ten years she has been an active participant in Rotary beginning with a long term exchange to Argentina in 2005 and has been involved in the training of the exchange students that came after her in District 5100. In 2013, Anna received the Rotary Youth Leadership Award from the East Salem Rotary Club and began volunteering with the Willamette Rotaract. Since moving to Seattle, she has volunteered for the One Night Count, the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation and become the activities chair for the 2015 Big West Rotaract Conference.  She is thrilled to be a part of the founding of the Seattle City Rotaract and looks forward to making an impact through service.

Events Chair - Lily Shay

Picture
Lily is a University of Washington alumna, with her studies focusing in International Studies, Global Health, and French. After graduating, Lily served as an AmeriCorps VISTA for Washington’s State Department of Education (OSPI), working with curriculum development for non-traditional education and developing meaningful opportunities for young people to be engaged in their communities, schools, and classrooms. Currently, Lily is working in the non-profit, global health field doing Business Development. While Lily’s experience with Rotaract is limited, she has worked with Rotarians in the past. For three years in high school, Lily participated in the Bellevue Breakfast Rotary and Newport High School’s Cisco Networking Academy project, Computers for the World, traveling to Turkey and Antigua setting up computer labs in schools, libraries, and hospitals. This experience spearheaded her passion for responsible and sustainable international development and linkages between health and technology.
